Music Monday – Music of 2016

So, 2016 sucked. I mean, it really sucked.

2016 is at the top of the “Ain’t Shit” list right along with Donald Trump’s existence, Tomi Lahren’s split ends, and Drake’s Views album.

2016 was an overall bad year, but one good thing that came out of this year was the music. There have been so many wonderful albums, EPs, and mixtapes that dropped this year. The Knowles sisters dropped two of the best and Blackest albums of 2016 with Lemonade and A Seat At The Table. YouTube stars (who don’t get enough love in my opinion), Todrick Hall (Straight Outta Oz) and Thirdstory (Searching) both have wonderful projects they released this year. Chance The Rapper (my fav) blessed us with Coloring Book this year. Even two reality stars dropped two pretty good projects; K. Michelle’s album More Issues Than Vouge and Cardi B’s mixtape Gangsta Bitch Mixtape Vol. 1.  And the Hamilton Mixtape was super lit, and currently the number 1 album in the country.

The year itself might have been “ain’t shit,” but the music was definitely “the shit.” Okay, that was corny, but you know what I’m trying to say. Here is a list (in no particular order) of more excellent projects that made 2016 a little less insufferable.
